How The Santa's Wonderland / Holiday Wonderland Program Works!

Fund Resources offers a selection of approximately 100 choices for students to shop from.   Items range in school cost from $.11 to $18.00,with most items in the $.75 to $3.50 range, making the gifts very affordable.

Please remember that the program can be called either Santa's Wonderland or Holiday Wonderland, depending on your community rules.

Four Key Points To Remember:

  1.  Merchandise is provided on consignment - you pay only for items not returned.
  2.  All supplies are provided FREE.
  3.  We pay the postage BOTH ways.
  4.  You pay for the merchandise used AFTER THE PROGRAM ENDS.

Running the Shop / Serving As Chairperson:

Being chairperson of the Santa's Wonderland or Holiday Wonderland program is easy.  Our Planning Guide and Instruction Booklet walk you step-by-step through every aspect of the program.  Follow the steps and you'll have a successful shop!

The booklet explains how to use all the free supplies, how to set up your display, how to bring the students through the sales area, how much starting change, how to close down and how to send back the leftovers.

Fund Resources Pays The Postage!

Fund Resources mails the boxes of merchandise to the school mailing address via PRIORITY MAIL at our expense using Flat Rate Boxes.  Priority Mail insures that the boxes will arrive in a timely manner and using Priority Mail allows us to track the boxes as they move through the postal system.

At the end of the program, the school volunteers box up the leftovers in as few boxes as possible and then mail back via STANDARD MAIL (PARCEL POST).  Save the postal receipt and attach to the billing summary when you send in your payment - you may deduct the cost of the Standard Mail postage off the bill.

Packing and Display:

We pack the merchandise in cardboard boxes that will hold up under the stress of being sent through the US Postal Service.  The items are packed generally in descending retail price.  Set up a row of tables to make a display line.  The take the gifts out and make a display of all choices in descending retail value.  We provide a chart showing how much space (in inches) is needed to show off everything in each price category.  Place backup stock on another set of tables immediately behind the display tables, or store extra stock under the display tables.  Once your display is set up, you are ready to begin selling.

Advertising the Sale:

Fund Resources provided FREE SUPPLIES to help you advertise your sale to the students and their parents.   (Please note that complete supplies are available in either name for the program - Santa's Wonderland or Holiday Wonderland.)
a.   Santa's Wonderland Is Coming!
            FLYER
      Holiday Wonderland Is Coming!
            FLYER

Enough flyers are provided for each reported
student (plus about 10% extra).  Distribute
the flyers about 3 weeks before the sale
       starts.

The flyer has a generic message about the
program on the front side.  You can print
personalized information about the dates and
times of your particular sale on the backside
       if you wish to.

b.  Money Envelope

Distribute either the day before the sales starts, or on preview day if you are holding such a day.   The Money Envelope is provided so students can make a budget for whom to shop, how much to spend on each person, and then to bring their money to school in a safe and secure manner.

c.  Dates & Times Wall Poster

Place around the school one to two weeks
   before the sale begins.

d.   Plastic Door Panel Decoration

Use the Plastic Door Panel to
decorate the door in to the sales
area or a wall in the sales area.

Selling to the Students:
a.  PROFIT MARGIN

Your school receives a set of MASTER INVENTORY SHEETS listing all
the items packed, the quality packed, the school's cost on each item,
several different suggested retail prices reflecting eithr 10% profit,
15% profit or 25% profit, and the price category code for each item.
You may sell the gifts for any price you like, however, it is not
advisable to sell them for less that the school cost.

b.  PRICE CODING

Most items have a PRICE CATEGORY CODE printed on their box.  All items with the same school cost have the same category code making it easy to learn the retail prices.

c.  GIFT BAGS    and    d.  SHOPPING BAGS

Fund Resources provides four sizes of GIFT BAGS with TO/FROM labels pre-printed on the bags.  Place the gift in the gift bags, fill out the label and it's ready to go under the tree.   SHOPPING BAGS are also provided for the students to carry home the gifts they have purchased.

Closing the Shop:

       1.   School takes an inventory of the leftovers and calculates own bill.
It's easy and a proven winner - you pay only for the items not returned
to Fund Resources.    You pay only the "school cost" on those items.

     2.   Next, pack up the leftovers in as few boxes as possible.  Mail back the
leftovers via Parcel Post (Standard Mail) and deduct the cost of the return
postage off the bill for the merchandise used.

     3.   Mail your payment and paperwork via Priority Mail within 10 days
after the end of the sale at your school.
